Flirty Fungi Necklace Sterling Silver

This pendant lovingly recreates shelf fungus on a tree. The marvelous thing bout mushrooms is that what you see is a tiny part of the life form, most of the organism is a massive network throughout the tree, log, or ground. Shelf fungus is no exception!

I've always been fascinated by the lines created by this humble fungus. I even sculpted the gills on the underside of the mushroom!

I sculpting the original in a special wax clay, then created a solid sterling silver copy through a series of moldings called the "lost wax" technique. Every attempt at a silver copy destroys a wax copy of a sculpture, hence the name "lost wax."

Each pendant comes with a lovely sterling silver rolo chain. This is the first sterling silver pendant design I've ever made!!!
