Humpback Whale Blue Banded Opal Necklace One of a Kind Showpiece

I saw this Blue Banded Opal and immediately thought of a crisp Arctic sea. I thought a breaching humpback whale would compliment this beautiful stone. I carved the whales, the silver waves bordering the stone, and the 6 prongs on the back holding the stone securely into place from jeweler's wax.

That wax was cast in sterling silver via the lost wax technique, no molds were made of this piece, it truly is a one of a kind, in stone and silver. It really is quite stunning.
